How to compress an image online
1. Choose your image

2. Set format and quality
Start with Keep original format and Balanced. Choose Auto / Best for size only if you want to allow format changes. Quality controls affect JPG and WEBP; PNG encoding is lossless.

Does compression reduce image quality?
JPG and WEBP compression can remove detail. PNG uses lossless encoding. Lower quality often reduces bytes, but an already optimized image may be returned unchanged.
Can I compress an image to 50KB or 100KB?
Use Compress Image to KB for a maximum byte budget. This tool focuses on reducing file size using format and quality settings.
Will a transparent PNG keep its background?
Automatic mode keeps transparency by using a compatible format. Choosing JPG explicitly flattens transparency onto a solid background.
