1 KB is 1,024 bytes and 1 MB is 1,048,576 bytes. If a form uses decimal bytes, choose a slightly lower target.
Keeping useful detail within 100KB
A 100KB budget gives small photos more space for detail than a very tight 20KB or 50KB limit. Resize to the actual display or upload dimensions first; extra pixels rarely help when the destination only shows a small thumbnail.
Inspect edges and small lettering after compression. High-contrast diagrams may look cleaner as PNG, but a PNG can need more pixels removed to reach the same budget. For photographs, compare JPG and WEBP if both are accepted by your destination.

Should I resize before compressing to 100KB?
Use required pixel dimensions when your destination specifies them. Otherwise, keep Auto initially and inspect the output; reducing oversized dimensions can leave more of the byte budget for visible detail.
Is the downloaded file exactly the selected number of bytes?
No. Your entry is an upper limit. DocsReady never adds padding to hit an exact byte count; a smaller result is valid.
Why did my pixel dimensions change?
